Job summary

Raytheon seeks a Principal Cryogenics Systems Design Engineer for its Tucson, AZ campus to design, analyze, and support cryogenic systems for infrared sensors. You will lead high‑pressure gas assemblies, JT/Cryo coolers, Dewar vessels, and UHV hermetic designs, while troubleshooting and coordinating with suppliers.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and structural analysis, plus CREO/Pro Engineer proficiency.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Thermodynamic, Heat Transfer Analysis and Structural Analysis.
• Experience with fluid, pneumatic, vacuum, cryogenics systems design.
• Experience with Pro/Engineer and CREO.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of high‑pressure gas supply assemblies and cryogenic coolers.
• Troubleshoot EO Cryogenic systems and support testing.
• Work with component suppliers and prepare technical justification reports.
• Occasional travel to government and other facilities to support programs.
• Collaborate with multi‑discipline teams on infrared sensor systems.
