Job summary

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Cryogenics Systems Design Engineer II for our Tucson, AZ campus. This onsite role supports EO Cryogenics with multi-discipline teams on infrared sensor programs from development to production.

The candidate will design high‑pressure gas supply assemblies, cryogenic coolers, and Dewar vessels, troubleshoot cryogenic systems, and partner with suppliers. A STEM degree with 2+ years in thermodynamics/structural analysis and CREO/ProE experience is desired.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Thermodynamic, Heat Transfer Analysis and Structural Analysis.
  • Experience with fluid, pneumatic, vacuum, cryogenics systems design, analysis, or fabrication.
  • Cryogenics system design familiarity (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Design and analysis of high-pressure gas supply assemblies, Joule-Thompson coolers, Stirling coolers, Dewar design, Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) Hermetic vessels and sealing techniques.
  • Troubleshoot EO Cryogenic systems.
  • Work closely with components suppliers.
  • Prepare technical justification analysis reports
  • Occasional travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities.
