Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Cryogenics Systems Design Engineer in Tucson, AZ to design and analyze cryogenic systems for infrared sensor programs. You will work with multi-discipline teams in a fast-paced defense environment on high-pressure gas supplies, coolers, and Dewar designs.

Minimum 8 years in STEM, with thermodynamics, heat transfer, and CREO proficiency. Onsite work with potential travel to government facilities; DoD clearance required.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 8+ years of experience.
• Experience in thermodynamic and heat transfer analysis is needed.
• Familiarity with cryogenic system design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze high-pressure gas supply assemblies and cryogenic coolers.
• Troubleshoot cryogenic systems and support suppliers.
• Prepare technical justification reports for programs.
• Travel to government/partner facilities as needed.
