Job summary

Prime Data Centers is seeking a Chief, Critical Facilities Engineer to lead and execute maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems across our data center campuses. This role combines individual contribution with leadership of on-site teams and coordination with vendors.

You will guide preventative maintenance, troubleshoot complex failures, and drive safety and code compliance, with strong communication to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Technical college degree or equivalent work experience.
• Four or more years of data center experience.
• CPR/First Aid and NFPA70E Certification during employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center.
• Operate independently with limited direct management.
• Act as an escalation point for facilities-related issues and document root causes.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for technicians and vendor support teams.
• Provide training to technicians and ensure safety procedures are followed.
