Job summary

Prime Data Centers Corporation is seeking a Chief, Critical Facilities Engineer to lead electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems in a data center environment. The role combines independent execution with collaboration across onsite and global teams, driving maintenance programs, cost tracking, and project implementation.

The ideal candidate brings extensive data center experience, strong technical knowledge (NFPA, NEC, and related codes), and proven ability to train and guide

Qualifications

• Technical college degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
• CPR/First Aid and NFPA70E Certification during employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center.
• Operate independently with limited direct management.
• Escalation point for facilities‑related issues, escalating to the Critical Facility Manager as needed.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot and report facility and data center events within internal SLA.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for Critical Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor support teams.
• Provide training and guidance to Critical Operations Technicians.
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and PDC employees.
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
