Job summary

The Senior Criminal Justice Information Technician at the Florida Department of Corrections oversees the accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of criminal justice information. This role involves supervising junior technicians, managing complex data entry and retrieval tasks, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

This position is not a telework role and requires reporting to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Qualifications

• Two years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
• College education may substitute for experience at specified rates.
• High school diploma or equivalent can substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Enter and interpret vital statistical, financial, and technical data into computer systems.
• Maintain accurate offender records by reviewing and updating information from documents.
• Send and receive information through information centers and explain data to non-equipment users.
• Respond to inquiries from authorized personnel about information systems; ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain confidentiality, disseminate records, and perform routine equipment maintenance.
