Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections in Florida statewide is looking for an Electronic Technician II to maintain, repair, and install electronic systems across multiple institutions. The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and experience in electronics or electricians, with college training as substitute options.

Inmates may be supervised during work; extensive reports and logs are required. The position is not a telework role and requires reporting to the appropriate FDC office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year electronics/electrician experience or 4+ years electronics experience.
• College or vocational/technical training can substitute for required experience.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install electronic systems and devices in correctional facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, tests, logs, and record-keeping per guidelines.
• Repair, modify, and calibrate testing equipment; supervise inmates during tasks.
• Plan work, requisition parts, and follow policies and procedures.
