Job summary

City of Fayetteville is seeking a Crime Analyst to collect, process, analyze and distribute data related to crime. The role supports the Police Department by producing reports, maintaining intelligence files, and providing analytical support for grant reporting.

The position requires data analysis expertise, proficiency with Crystal Reports, SQL, Excel, Access and ArcGIS, and an associate degree with a preference for a bachelor’s degree. Pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in statistical research and data analysis in a Police Department, other law enforcement agency or military intelligence.
• Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited community college with major coursework in criminal justice, criminology, data science, geographic information sciences, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Ability to acquire DCI/NCIC Level I & II Certification within one year of employment.
• Preferred: Certified Law Enforcement Analyst (CLEA) and/or Criminal Intelligence Certified Analyst (CICA).

Responsibilities

• Query, edit and manipulate data across multiple tables using Crystal Reports, SQL, Excel, Access and related tools.
• Collect, research, analyze and distribute data related to criminal activities; compile information into reports.
• Create and manage charts and maps; summarize crime trends and hot-spots.
• Provide analytical support for special projects and grant reporting.
• Maintain L.E.A.D database and attend community coalition meetings.
