Job summary

The City of Fayetteville is seeking a Crime Analyst to collect, process, analyze, and distribute crime data and statistics. You will evaluate data, produce reports for supervisory staff, and maintain intelligence files while providing complex analytical support to the Police Department.

Responsibilities include querying multiple data sources, creating maps with ARC-GIS, and communicating findings to sworn staff and other departments. A two-year grant-funded term is offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in statistical research and data analysis.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and report crime-related data.
• Experience with GIS and data visualization tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process, analyze and distribute crime data and information.
• Evaluate data pertaining to crime and produce reports for supervision.
• Maintain intelligence data files and provide analytical support to the Police Department.
• Create charts, association matrices and timelines.
• Create maps using ARC-GIS and summarize trends and hot-spots.
• Coordinate data analysis with other departments and respond to data requests.
• Identify trends and provide recommendations to management.
• Support special projects with complex data analysis.
