Job summary

The City of Fayetteville is seeking a Crime Analyst to collect, process, analyze, and distribute crime data, generating reports for supervisory personnel. The role involves updating intelligence files and providing analytical support to the Police Department.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of statistical research and data analysis experience in law enforcement, plus familiarity with SQL, Crystal Reports, Excel, and ARC-GIS. Certification within a year is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in statistical research and data analysis in law enforcement.
• Experience with data reporting and trend analysis is preferred.
• Ability to acquire state/federal certifications within a year.
• Knowledge of NCIC/DCIN/CLEA/CICA certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Query, edit and manipulate data across multiple tables using relevant software.
• Collect and analyze crime data; prepare reports for supervisory staff.
• Compile daily activity summaries and distribute findings to sworn staff.
• Create charts, timelines, and maps to summarize crime trends.
• Coordinate analysis with other departments; identify significant patterns.
