Job summary

New Edge Associates a Talent Acquisition Firm in Miami seeks an experienced Credit Underwriter to analyze complex commercial credit requests across C&I, CRE, construction, and owner-occupied lending. You will prepare detailed credit presentations, assess risk, structure loan requests, and partner closely with Relationship Managers to support sound lending decisions while ensuring policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of commercial credit underwriting experience within a bank.
• Strong experience underwriting C&I and CRE loans.
• Experience with construction lending and complex commercial credit structures preferred.
• Knowledge of loan structuring, covenants, risk ratings, and credit policy.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex commercial loan requests, primarily C&I and CRE.
• Perform detailed financial statement, tax return, cash flow, and global cash flow analysis.
• Prepare comprehensive CAMs and credit presentations.
• Evaluate loan structure, collateral, guarantor strength, and overall credit risk.
• Recommend loan terms, covenants, risk ratings, and alternative credit structures when appropriate.
• Analyze corporate and personal financial statements, tax returns, and borrower creditworthiness.
• Conduct UCC searches, credit reports, bank/trade reference verification, and industry research.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior Credit Analysts by reviewing credit presentations and underwriting work.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
