Job summary

Truist seeks a Credit Risk Governance professional to independently review credit decision strategies across Consumer Lending, ensuring governance, policy alignment, and strong risk controls throughout the credit lifecycle.

You will coordinate with BUs, risk forums, and governance committees, maintaining policies and training teams on risk standards while monitoring regulatory requirements and market trends.

Qualifications

• 7 years of credit related experience including underwriting/credit approval, documentation skills, modeling skills and problem loan experience.
• 7+ years of related experience in consumer, small business, credit card, mortgage and wealth.
• Consumer risk and regulatory knowledge.
• Ability to think strategically, multi-task, and drive change.
• Advanced quantitative, governance and analytic abilities.
• Strong decision making capability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize functional background in partnership with BUs First and Second Lines of Defense, Credit Risk Review and Audit to develop and implement credit policies, guidelines and procedures.
• Promote consistency of Bank's credit culture and lending strategies; champion risk management culture and appetite.
• Provide oversight and feedback to BU leaders on assigned portfolio to ensure asset quality and manage risk concentrations.
• Perform independent credit risk assessments on transactions adjudicated by BUs and provide timely feedback to leadership.
• Manage Loan/Operational Authority systems of record and perform regular control assessments.
• Monitor problem assets to limit credit losses through communication with loss mitigation and Default Management.
• Provide analytical feedback on product guidelines and parameters based on performance study.
• Support training and communication efforts related to policies and development of committee presentations.
• Aid in coaching and development of BU teammates and stay abreast of laws and economic trends to ensure compliance.
