Job summary

Atlantic Union Bank is seeking a Credit Portfolio Manager III to provide independent underwriting for complex Wholesale Banking loans, manage large portfolios, and act as a SME in credit concepts. You will collaborate with Relationship Managers, Credit Portfolio Managers, and leadership to deliver credit solutions while ensuring compliance with regulations.

The role requires seven-plus years in commercial lending, advanced financial analysis skills, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and seven or more years of experience in a commercial lending environment
• Experience across multiple lines of business including Commercial & Industrial, real estate development and builder lines, service, retail, commercial real estate, religious organizations and government
• SME in aligned industry, commercial credit and lending concepts, practices and regulations
• Advanced written and analytical skills to analyze balance sheet structure, and income and cash flow trends
• Ability to research industry sources needed for credit evaluations
• Strong organization skills with the ability to self-manage time and work flow to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

Responsibilities

• Lead the independent underwriting process for new and renewal opportunities for clients and prospects within an assigned portfolio
• Provide in-depth, independent analysis of financial statements, management competencies, industry impact, competitive dynamics, collateral, and guarantor support
• Prepare detailed short or long-term financial projections within Moody's Risk Analyst or Excel
• Make recommendations to Relationship Managers and Credit Approvers regarding credit amount, structure, and policy compliance
• Manage assigned portfolio by monitoring performance, ensuring risk rating integrity, and ensuring covenants compliance
• Participate or lead client calls with Relationship Manager for in-depth financial questions and deal information
• Participate in special projects to aid with portfolio management improvements
• Adhere to laws and Atlantic Union Bankshares' BSA/AML Policy and Procedures
• Coordinate with clients and stakeholders for new deals, renewals, and portfolio management
• Mentor CPMs I and II as appropriate
