Job summary

OceanFirst Bank is seeking a seasoned Commercial Credit Analyst to perform independent analyses for complex loan requests and monitor a commercial lending portfolio across renewals and risk ratings.

You will prepare written analyses, propose risk ratings, and support credit decisions in alignment with bank policy and applicable laws. This role also involves mentoring junior staff and engaging with Relationship Managers and Management Credit Committee as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economics is required.
• 7 years in a commercial lending environment with 5 years in credit evaluation, risk assessment and underwriting.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations and credit policy; ability to interpret complex Covenants.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent analysis for commercial loan requests and recommend approval or alternative structuring.
• Monitor portfolio for renewals, reviews, and risk ratings with timely updates.
• Lead credit decisions within authority in coordination with Credit Officer when needed.
• Prepare comprehensive written analyses and present to committees as required.
• Maintain documentation in line with credit policy and regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance to junior staff on credit evaluation and underwriting practices.
