Job summary

Washington Trust Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst to support Relationship Managers in the analysis and evaluation of existing and potential loan customers. You will prepare written authorizations, spread financial statements, and review projections and automated spreadsheets for commercial borrowers.

With supervision, you will participate in credit analysis, risk assessment, and documentation, while developing financial models and presentations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of credit analysis and underwriting experience preferred.
• College-level coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• Strong accounting aptitude.
• Demonstrated analytical/problem solving ability.
• Experience with computer assisted financial analysis and PC-based models.
• Knowledge of bank loan policies and commercial documentation requirements.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities with high service levels.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Organizational and analytical skills; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Relationship Managers in credit analysis, risk rating, and credit administration.
• Review and evaluate business financial reports; prepare written credit authorizations per bank policy.
• Prepare financial projections and customized automated spreadsheets for analyzing commercial borrowers.
• Develop financial models based on customized formats for analysis.
• Prepare financial statement presentations for business borrowers.
• Perform compliance and risk management duties as required.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
• Assist with other department duties and projects as needed by team lead.
