Job summary

1st Security Bank of Washington is seeking a Credit Analyst to conduct comprehensive credit analysis, gather and interpret financial information, and assist with underwriting of new loan applications and portfolio management.

You will support Team Leader and Relationship Managers, applying strong credit skills to structure loans with moderate to high complexity while balancing growth and risk. This role emphasizes collaboration and continuous monitoring of credit quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five to seven years of experience in credit underwriting, loan structuring, credit policy analysis and portfolio management.
• Five to seven years of sales and customer service experience in the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present credit requests to Team Leader, Relationship Managers, Credit Administration and loan committee for lending decisions.
• Maintain control over credit standings of accounts and furnish information relative to credit inquiries.
• Knowledge of commercial, construction and real estate credit analysis.
• Demonstrate moderate to superior skills in financial statement spreading and evaluation of projections.
• Manage loan and portfolio credit quality through covenant, risk rating and trend analysis.
• Gather and analyze credit information on current and potential borrowers including preparation of financial statement spreads.
• Assess liquidity, leverage, cash flow and contingent liabilities of businesses and individuals.
• Research market for prospective clients and make joint calls on customers.
• Recommend loan structures and prepare loan approval memorandums for new and existing clients.
• Work with Credit Administration and Relationship Managers to manage a tickler system on loan relationships.
• Contact borrowers to obtain updated financial information to ensure quality of documentation.
