Job summary

First Horizon Bank is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to provide high-level analytical support for underwriting commercial credit facilities and to assist Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers in managing client relationships.

The role includes mentoring junior analysts, ensuring adherence to lending guidelines, and delivering timely, accurate credit analyses for lending relationships across diverse industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of related experience in Financial Services, Banking, Credit Analysis or Loan Review.
• Familiarity with corporate credit products and the processes used to analyze financial data.
• Good understanding of general bank operations and the commercial lending process.
• Strong computer skills with Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience with Salesforce or ncino is a plus.
• Ability to read, analyze and communicate information clearly to senior executives and staff.

Responsibilities

• Interpret financial statements and provide financial analysis support for underwriting complex C&I loans, focusing on Medical Practices, service companies and commercial private client ventures.
• Perform financial analysis, covenant monitoring and industry research; update loan requests and annual reviews in the bank system.
• Assist in transaction structuring and relationship strategy meetings with management and credit partners.
• Prepare complex credit approval documentation reflecting terms, collateral, covenants and loan inputs in the commercial loan system.
• Monitor assigned portfolios with PMs, track covenants and company performance against expectations.
• Participate in internal credit discussions and external meetings with clients and prospects.
• Lead special projects and support team initiatives with high ownership and attention to detail.
• Identify material changes or trends in borrowers' financials to inform credit presentations.
