Job summary

GoodLeap is seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Servicing to act as the dedicated legal resource for the Servicing Team. The role requires deep experience in consumer loan and mortgage loan servicing and collections law, providing real-time operational guidance to the Servicing organization.

You will advise on loss mitigation, collections strategy, default management and regulatory compliance, support servicing operations and investor obligations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years as practicing attorney in consumer loan servicing or collections.
Deep knowledge of FDCPA, TCPA, RESPA, TILA, UDAAP and related laws.
In-house consumer finance or mortgage servicing experience preferred.
Ability to provide actionable legal guidance in fast-paced business.

Responsibilities

Lead compliance analysis and policy development under Reg X, Reg Z, and related laws.
Draft and maintain loss mitigation policies and servicing procedures.
Advise on loss mitigation structuring and post-default strategy.
Monitor regulatory developments and implement new rules.
Review vendor contracts and SOWs for collections and default management.
Partner with Capital Markets on servicing representations and covenants.
Support regulatory examinations and respond to consumer complaints.
