Job summary

GoodLeap seeks an Assistant General Counsel, Servicing with deep experience in consumer loan and mortgage servicing. You will provide real-time guidance on loss mitigation, collections, and regulatory compliance for the Servicing Team.

You will advise on Reg X/Reg Z, FDCPA, TCPA, and related laws, review contracts, collaborate with Capital Markets, and support regulatory examinations and investor obligations.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years as practicing attorney with consumer loan servicing or mortgage experience.
• Expert knowledge of FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, UDAAP, TILA, RESPA and related laws.
• Experience advising on loss mitigation and post-default strategy.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one state.
• Able to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance analysis and policy development for servicing operations.
• Draft, review, and maintain loss mitigation policies and procedures.
• Identify and mitigate legal/regulatory risks across servicing portfolios.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement new rules.
• Review and negotiate vendor contracts and SOWs for servicing.
• Partner with Capital Markets on servicing representations and covenants.
• Support regulatory examinations and respond to consumer complaints.
