Job summary

GoodLeap is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel, Servicing to provide real-time guidance on consumer loan and mortgage loan servicing, collections, and regulatory compliance. The role supports the Servicing team, oversees loss mitigation programs, and ensures alignment with investor obligations and applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney in consumer loan servicing, collections or default management.
• Experience in-house at consumer finance or mortgage servicer or subservicer preferred.
• Deep knowledge of FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, UDAAP, TILA, RESPA and related state laws.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory compliance analysis and policy development under Reg X, Reg Z, FDCPA and related laws.
• Draft, review, and maintain loss mitigation policies, collections strategies, and servicing procedures.
• Advise on loss mitigation structuring and post-default strategy in consumer finance contexts.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement new rules affecting servicing and collections.
• Review and negotiate vendor contracts and statements of work for servicing functions.
• Support servicing representations and compliance requirements in asset sale and securitization transactions.
