Job summary

GoodLeap, LLC seeks an experienced Assistant General Counsel, Servicing to support the Servicing Team remotely. The role emphasizes consumer loan and mortgage servicing, collections, and regulatory compliance across servicing operations.

The attorney will provide daily guidance on loss mitigation, regulatory changes, and servicing contracts, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external counsel to ensure compliant, efficient servicing portfolios.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney in consumer loan servicing, collections or default management.
• Deep working knowledge of servicing and consumer debt laws (FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, UDAAP, TILA, RESPA).
• Fluency in regulatory compliance and state licensing requirements.
• Familiarity with AI governance in financial services operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance analysis and policy development under applicable statutes and regulations.
• Draft, review, and maintain loss mitigation policies and servicing procedures.
• Advise on regulatory risk and structuring for new investment products.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement new rules for servicing and collections.
• Review and negotiate vendor contracts and SOWs for servicing functions.
• Partner with Capital Markets and Portfolio Management on servicing representations and covenants.
