Job summary

Relativity is seeking a Senior Counsel, Commercial Transactions to lead customer-facing negotiations for SaaS, software licenses, cloud services, and AI-enabled offerings. The role partners with Sales, Product, Security, and Finance to drive growth while managing legal risk and scalable contracting processes.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience, a JD, and deep knowledge of technology transactions, data privacy, and regulatory considerations.

Qualifications

8+ years of relevant in-house or law firm experience.
Extensive experience negotiating SaaS, software, cloud services, professional services, data processing, and partnerships.
Experience supporting AI-enabled products and emerging technology issues.
JD from an accredited law school; licensed to practice in the United States.

Responsibilities

Lead customer, procurement, and strategic commercial negotiations on software, SaaS and hybrid cloud services.
Provide strategic legal advice and business counsel on commercial and strategic issues, negotiating high volumes of contracts with varying complexity.
Engage with customers to ensure they feel listened to and heard, delivering value.
Suggest and implement process improvements, such as new standard forms, to enhance efficiency.
Demonstrate agility with AI legal tech tools and learn new ones as needed.
Lead strategic pricing initiatives and governance with Finance and stakeholders.
Participate in internal approvals and respond to questions from stakeholders and clients.
Utilize AI tools, MS Office, Salesforce, and Ironclad effectively and responsibly.
