Job summary

Cloudbreak Energy, a Boulder-based renewable energy developer, is seeking a General Counsel who will lead the legal function, review, draft, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, and advise on project finance, regulatory, and corporate matters.

You will support development and operations of solar and storage projects, manage external counsel, and build contract templates and playbooks while collaborating with business units to move deals from inception to completion.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in corporate/real estate/renewable energy or commercial law focusing on transactional work.
• Strong ability to analyze issues and communicate solutions.
• Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Growth mindset; ability to push for growth and manage priorities.
• Bar admission active and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements (EPC, O&M, project finance, NDAs).
• Support development lifecycle and stakeholder relations for solar/storage projects.
• Advise on regulatory, tax, real estate, and contractual structures affecting operations.
• Oversee external counsel and develop contract templates and playbooks.
• Improve contract intake, review, and post-execution processes.
• Communicate legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers and train business units.
• Travel as needed.
