A leading renewable energy platform is seeking a Senior Counsel or Assistant General Counsel to support a growing portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across North America. This attorney will play a key role in structuring, negotiating, and managing complex commercial agreements that support the development, financing, construction, and operation of large-scale energy infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the negotiation, drafting, execution, and administration of commercial agreements supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Serve as the primary legal advisor to commercial teams on energy offtake transactions and related commercial arrangements.
- Advise on a variety of contract structures, including capacity agreements, tolling arrangements, power purchase agreements, and other market-facing revenue contracts.
- Partner closely with development, asset management, finance, and operations teams to ensure contractual obligations are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify legal and commercial risks and provide practical, business-focused solutions.
- Support the development and refinement of contract templates, internal processes, and transaction workflows.
- Manage external counsel as needed and coordinate legal support across multiple project workstreams.
- Assist with strategic initiatives and other commercial transactions related to the company's growing energy portfolio.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5+ years of legal experience, with a strong focus on renewable energy, power markets, or infrastructure transactions.
- Experience negotiating and advising on energy project commercial agreements, including power offtake, tolling, capacity, or related energy market transactions.
- Familiarity with energy trading and hedging agreements is highly preferred.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced environment.
