Larson Maddox is seeking a Senior Counsel or Assistant General Counsel to support a growing portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across North America. Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal experience, with a strong focus on renewable energy, power markets, or infrastructure transactions.
• Experience negotiating and advising on energy project commercial agreements, including power offtake, tolling, capacity, or related energy market transactions.
• Familiarity with energy trading and hedging agreements is highly preferred.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the negotiation, drafting, execution, and administration of commercial agreements supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Serve as the primary legal advisor to commercial teams on energy offtake transactions and related commercial arrangements.
• Advise on contract structures, including capacity agreements, tolling arrangements, power purchase agreements, and other market-facing revenue contracts.
• Partner closely with development, asset management, finance, and operations teams to ensure contractual obligations are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify legal and commercial risks and provide practical, business-focused solutions.
• Support the development and refinement of contract templates, internal processes, and transaction workflows.
• Manage external counsel as needed and coordinate legal support across multiple project workstreams.
• Assist with strategic initiatives and other commercial transactions related to the company's growing energy portfolio.
