Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking a Counsel to advise management and project teams as it expands its wind, solar, storage, and gas projects. This hybrid role reports to the Assistant General Counsel and may be based in Denver, San Francisco, San Diego, or Scottsdale.

You will draft and negotiate project documents, financing agreements, and tackle acquisitions while supervising outside counsel and advising on regulatory matters.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and license to practice.
• Minimum 3 years of in-house or law-firm experience with complex commercial matters.
• Experience with project finance and energy development across wind/solar/storage/gas.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with changing priorities.
• Strong analytical, risk assessment, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate project documents such as PPAs.
• Draft and negotiate financing documents, including tax equity and debt.
• Represent the company in acquisitions and dispositions.
• Supervise outside counsel and manage litigation matters.
• Provide regulatory and risk analysis to management.
• Collaborate across practice groups to guide contracts through lifecycle.
• Improve contracting processes and tools with internal stakeholders.
