Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Counsel for Product & AI to partner with Product, Engineering and Payments teams, guiding AI-enabled features while managing data practices and regulatory risk.

The role focuses on consumer technology products involving AI, embedded payments, and privacy-sensitive user experiences, with a remote-first setup and opportunity to shape complex legal strategy.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 6+ years of legal experience, including in-house product counsel experience at a tech company.
• Direct experience with AI/ML products and familiarity with emerging AI regulations.
• Experience in fintech or payments products, especially embedded payments and money movement.
• Substantive experience with privacy laws such as CCPA/CPRA and GDPR.
• Preferably experienced in restaurant technology or vertical SaaS.
• Strong process-building skills with the ability to create playbooks and standards.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate agreements for technology and data vendors, including licensing terms.
• Advise on digital accessibility compliance and support accessible design prior to launches.

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Counsel, Product & AI to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This role will serve as a strategic legal partner to Product, Engineering, and Payments teams, helping shape the launch of new features and AI-enabled offerings. You will provide practical, business-oriented counsel across product development, data practices, regulatory risk, and commercial agreements. The position is especially focused on guiding consumer technology products that involve AI, embedded payments, and privacy-sensitive user experiences.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $180,000 – $220,000 annually
