Ladders seeks a Managing Product Counsel to join a leader in the Finance & Insurance space as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Design teams across the full product lifecycle.

You will shape compliant product experiences in a highly regulated environment, balancing legal risk, customer impact, and innovation, and build practical processes that scale with the organization.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with 9+ years of legal practice, including in-house experience with Product and Engineering teams.
• Experience with regulated consumer products where compliance is integrated into product design.
• Knowledge of health insurance, employee benefits, or financial services regulations.
• Ability to independently identify legal issues from product specifications and designs.
• Comfort making risk assessments in uncertain regulatory environments.

• Advise on the regulatory architecture of the product, including evolving compliance rules.
• Partner with Compliance on regulatory reviews while owning pre-launch design judgments.

• Counsel on privacy, data use, and AI features, establishing review processes.
• Identify and protect intellectual property assets in collaboration with IP counsel.
• Build scalable legal systems, including checklists and training for teams.

For our client, we are seeking a Managing Product Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will serve as a strategic legal partner to Product, Engineering, and Design teams throughout the full product lifecycle, from early concepting through launch. You will help shape compliant product experiences in a highly regulated environment, balancing legal risk, customer impact, and innovation. The position calls for someone who can independently assess legal issues from product designs and build practical processes that scale as the organization grows.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $200,000 – $230,000 annually
