Job summary

Arizona State University seeks an Associate General Counsel to provide high-level legal services to the Office of General Counsel and the university community. You will handle complex transactional matters, regulatory compliance, and strategic advice for ABOR and ASU policies.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and six (6) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field, or an equivalent combination of experience/training.
• Evidence of strong research, writing and analytical abilities in complex legal matters.
• Experience in higher education, public institutions, or related regulatory environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal representation and counsel to the university community on complex matters.
• Draft, negotiate and review agreements related to transactional matters for university offices.
• Advise on regulatory compliance with federal and state laws and ABOR/ASU policies.
• Represent ASU in negotiations, administrative proceedings and legal disputes.
• Research a wide range of laws and regulations and prepare persuasive opinions and guidance.
• Collaborate with outside counsel and support preventive law programs.
