Job summary
Arizona State University seeks an Associate General Counsel to provide high-level legal services to the ASU Office of General Counsel, advising on a broad range of matters in higher education. The position requires a Juris Doctor and substantial experience in public finance, business formation, and national operations, with regular travel to Tempe and other ASU
Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school with six years of relevant practice.
- Experience advising on higher education matters, complex transactions, and finance.
- Strong written and oral communication, judgment, and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Drafts, negotiates, and reviews university agreements and transactions.
- Provides legal opinions and advice to administrative offices and academic units.
- Advise on regulatory compliance with federal/state laws and ABOR/University policies.
- Represent ASU in negotiations, proceedings, and disputes.
- Researches laws and regulations; supports preventive law programs.
