CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) is hiring a Sr. Counsel, Commercial Transactions for a remote role. You will lead structuring, drafting, and negotiating sophisticated insurance distribution arrangements, including agency relationships and reinsurance programs.

The role requires a JD from a U.S. law school, bar admission, and 10+ years of relevant experience. You will collaborate with business partners to translate novel business models into clear legal structures and help drive strategic

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and bar admission in good standing in the state of residency.
• 10+ years of experience in a relevant practice area.
• Substantial knowledge of current law and issues within area of specialty.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in an organized, effective, and timely manner.
• Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex insurance distribution arrangements, including agency and aggregator relationships.
• Advise on reinsurance transactions, including inbound, outbound, catastrophe, and opportunistic reinsurance.
• Structure complex multi-party insurance programs and commercial transactions and related agreements.
• Coordinate suites of interrelated agreements and translate business models into workable legal structures.
• Partner across the organization on strategic initiatives and other areas handled by the team.
• Participate in Legal department and company process-improvement initiatives.
