Job summary

Orchard seeks an Associate General Counsel to join our growing legal team. You will partner with product, regulatory and business units to scale our residential real estate offerings across states, balancing growth with prudent risk management.

You are a self-motivated attorney with 7–12 years of experience in commercial/regulatory work, strong contract negotiation skills, and a track record advising executive leadership. Equity, debt financings, and M&A may feature in the role.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of experience in commercial and regulatory work, ideally with law firm and in‑house roles.
• Strong contract negotiation and regulatory review experience.
• Experience negotiating partnerships and joint ventures.
• Familiarity with data privacy regimes and related policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations and structuring of complex commercial agreements.
• Partner with product, real estate, and finance teams to manage regulatory risk.
• Oversee data privacy and information security program development.
• Manage outside counsel and allocate legal resources efficiently.
• Engage with state regulators during expansion and inquiries.
• Support equity, debt financings and M&A activity as applicable.
• Advise executive leadership on risk and strategic direction.
• Ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
