• Experience in commercial and regulatory space, gained through law firm and in-house roles.
• Strong negotiation of commercial contracts and regulatory reviews.
• Familiarity with residential real estate-related regulations and privacy/security considerations.
• Ability to navigate evolving and overlapping regulations in a business context.

Responsibilities

• Act as the go-to legal expert across commercial and regulatory areas while shaping Orchard products in compliance.
• Lead negotiations for commercial partnerships from inception to execution.
• Support mortgage product offerings with compliant policies and state expansion.
• Collaborate with title companies to improve services while ensuring state-law compliance.
• Partner with Product & Engineering to balance innovation with risk.
• Engage with state regulators during expansion and compliance matters.
• Manage outside law firms, balancing cost and effectiveness.
• Contribute to Data Privacy and Information Security policy development.
• Potential involvement in equity/debt financings with venture capital providers.
