Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking an Assistant General Counsel (Claims & Litigation) to lead the management of all claims, litigation, arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution for the company. This role partners with executive leadership, operations, insurance, risk management, and outside counsel to minimize financial exposure and achieve favorable outcomes.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will develop litigation strategies, oversee outside counsel, and support commercial contracting

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in any state bar.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction law or related field with significant responsibility for managing complex litigation and claims.
• Experience managing outside counsel and significant litigation budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation, arbitration, and ADR.
• Develop claims and litigation management strategies.
• Oversee outside counsel and litigation budgets.
• Draft and negotiate client, subconsultant, and teaming agreements.
• Provide legal support for commercial contracts.
