Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking an Assistant General Counsel (Claims & Litigation) to serve as the lead attorney managing all claims, litigation, arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution matters. You will work with executive leadership, operations, risk management, and outside counsel to minimize financial exposure and achieve favorable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school and active membership in any state bar.
• Experience: Minimum of 15 years in construction law or related field with significant responsibility for managing complex litigation and claims.
• Must have demonstrated experience managing outside counsel and significant litigation budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation, arbitration, and ADR proceedings, including pre-litigation risk assessment and outside counsel oversight.
• Prepare periodic claims and litigation reports for executive leadership and the Board.
• Manage discovery, litigation holds, and document preservation and production.
• Develop and maintain standardized litigation management procedures and reporting protocols.
• Collaborate with project teams to assess legal risk and develop practical, business-minded solutions.
