Job summary

Affirm's Legal, Compliance, and Public Affairs team is seeking a Counsel II, Capital Markets to support diversified capitalization strategies and cross-border financing. You will guide transactions from strategy through execution, drafting complex deal documents and ensuring compliance with lending and securities laws.

This remote-first role reports to the Director, Capital Markets Counsel and collaborates with capital markets and bank partnerships teams to drive growth and investor confidence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant law-firm experience, with in-house fintech exposure preferred.
• JD degree from a reputable law school and active US state bar membership.
• Experience in structured lending, debt finance, securitizations, and creative funding forms.

Responsibilities

• Support capital markets strategy and bank partnerships initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate US and international capital markets documents (credit agreements, indentures, side letters).
• Provide clear legal advice and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.
• Support other capital markets or finance-related projects as needed.
