Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a finance professional to set up and monitor cost control systems on contracts, prepare budgets, and perform analyses to ensure compliance with government guidelines. You will support EVMS activities, funding projections, and variance analysis while coordinating with CAMs and program teams.

The role emphasizes rigorous financial reporting, WBS alignment, and timely funding requests, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field with 5 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office including MS Excel with pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience with SAP, SAP Business Warehouse, Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Cobra/MPM, MS Project/Oracle Primavera, or other scheduling software tools.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Set up cost control systems and monitor costs and schedules on contracts requiring a validated cost/schedule control system.
• Prepare budgets and schedules for contract work and perform/assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.
• Perform analyses and prepare reports to ensure contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
• Prepare program plans to ensure program requirements and statements of work are captured and scheduled.
• Monitor funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding.
• Conduct cost analysis to develop EACs, generate financial inputs, and support monthly cost and schedule reviews.
• Assist CAMs with EVMS activities, including WBS alignment, time-phasing of tasks, developing and documenting earned value methodologies, monthly performance measurement, estimate-to-complete analysis and updates, and variance-analysis research and reporting.
• Incorporate contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines
• Perform miscellaneous financial analyses as required.
• Continually assess and improve financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency and participate in month-end financial reporting close activities.
• Travel required: 10%.
