Job summary

Turner & Townsend seeks an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to support a diverse Seattle-based portfolio across real estate, infrastructure, and public sector projects. The role focuses on cost consultancy, project controls, and commercial management across all lifecycle phases.

The ideal candidate will have a strong client-facing background, excellent communication, and the ability to lead cost planning, change management, and value engineering in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5-7 years of relevant cost management experience.
• RICS accreditation or working towards it preferred.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide estimate and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
• Review and participate with the design services team and general contractor in the development of cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and assist the general contractor to ensure that their data is accurate.
• Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions with subs, NPA, and designers.
• Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate VE sessions with stakeholders.
• Develop cost plans and estimates through the design phase and update them at milestones.
• Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering exercises.
• Review pricing and lead negotiations on behalf of the client to drive fair contract prices.
• Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
• Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed upon in a timely manner.
• Produce monthly cost reports for client presentations.
