Job summary

Hargrove is seeking aCost Manager to oversee all project cost control activities for capital and maintenance projects, including forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and invoice validation. This on-site role collaborates with Project Managers, contractors, and accounting to ensure projects stay within approved funding.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in project controls and strong Excel proficiency, plus experience with SAP, Primavera, or Power BI.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in project controls, cost control, cost management, or related roles.
Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, chemical, power, or capital project environments.
Strong knowledge of cost reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
Track actual expenditures, commitments, and forecasted costs against approved budgets.
Identify cost variances and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
Monitor project performance and communicate financial status to project leadership.
Prepare monthly cost reports and dashboards for management review.
Validate contractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract requirements.
Review labor, material, equipment, and subcontract costs.
Support accrual development and month-end financial reporting activities.
Support earned value analysis and project performance measurement.
Assist Project Managers with financial planning and decision-making.
Analyze trends and identify potential schedule or cost impacts.
Generate and distribute routine and ad hoc cost reports.
Perform cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
Develop forecasting models and support long-range project planning.
Maintain accurate project financial records and supporting documentation.
Support audits and compliance reviews as required.
