Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Phoenix seeks an experienced Senior Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor to support a diverse portfolio of large-scale construction projects, including data centers and high-tech facilities. You will be a key day-to-day client interface delivering value-added cost management across all project phases.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in cost management, strong communication, and is capable of leading teams in a high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, or related field.
• 5–7 years of cost management experience in construction.
• RICS accreditation preferred or working toward it.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large projects of medium to high complexity.
• Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide estimate and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
• Review and participate with design services and general contractor in cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and assist contractor to ensure data accuracy.
• Coordinate cost information from NPAs, subs, and quantities from A/Es.
• Prepare comments to contractor submissions, including executive summary.
• Develop cost plans and estimates through design phases and update at milestones.
• Support VE sessions and value engineering input.
• Review contractor pricing and lead negotiations to secure fair prices.
• Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
• Prepare monthly cost reports for client presentations.
• Ensure final accounts are negotiated and closed timely.
• Coach and mentor talent and drive leadership in projects.
• Maintain SOX controls where applicable.
