Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor for a major hyperscale data center construction project in the Chicago area. The role interfaces with clients, requiring strong communication and leadership to deliver cost management outcomes.

The successful candidate will have 5–7 years in cost management, preferably with data center experience, and a track record in cost planning, change management, and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 5-7 years of cost management experience in construction.
• RICS accreditation advantageous.
• Experience in data center or mission-critical projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Develop cost plans and estimates through the design milestones.
• Lead cost management on medium to large projects.
• Prepare monthly cost reports for presentation to the client.
• Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering.
