Turner & Townsend in Chicago is seeking a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management on a major data center construction project. You will interface with clients, develop cost plans, evaluate design alternatives, and manage change control, risk and value engineering.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and on-site presence with potential travel to Minooka, IL. Minimum 5-7 years in cost management; building data center experience is preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• RICS accreditation or working towards it is advantageous.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in cost management within the construction industry.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly desirable.
• Prior experience supporting data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
• Experience leading cost management on medium or large projects of medium to high complexity.
• Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.

Responsabilidades

• Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Provide estimate and cost planning including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
• Review and participate with design services team and general contractor in developing cost estimates.
• Reconcile changes and assist the general contractor to ensure data accuracy.
• Coordinate all sources of cost information for discussions and suppliers direct from NPA, subs, quantities from A/Es.
• Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
• Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects.
• Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
