Job summary

AECOM is hiring a Project Controls – Senior Cost Engineer in Boston, MA to provide technical expertise across multiple projects. You’ll maintain cost integrity, monitor financial performance, support forecasting and change management, and contribute to timely financial reporting.

You will collaborate with project leadership, construction teams, PMIS personnel, and contractors to ensure costs are tracked, forecasted, and reported per program procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline with eight years of related experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor budgets, commitments, actual costs, accruals, forecasts, and EAC.
• Track and analyze cost performance across multiple projects, contracts and funding sources.
• Identify cost trends, variances, risks, and communicate their potential financial impacts to leadership.
• Support CM teams with contractor payments, change orders, SOV reviews and cost-compliance requirements.
• Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy and contractual alignment.
• Maintain cost records, reports, change logs, and commitment registers.
• Apply Earned Value Management and other PMIS methods to assess cost performance.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports, forecasts, dashboards for senior management and clients.
• Assist with cash-flow projections and funding analyses.
