Firefly Aerospace in Austin, Texas seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to own and lead cost and inventory functions within the accounting team. You will drive month-end close, budgeting support, and inventory counting, partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to understand cost drivers and ensure BOM accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or R&D environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost processes and financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close for manufacturing costs and inventory.
• Monitor labor and overhead absorption, freight, and duties.
• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to understand cost drivers.
• Lead process improvements and scale ERP to new requirements.
• Perform variance analyses (PO price, cost revaluation, WIP variances).
• Support FP&A with cost models and BoM accuracy.
