Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to oversee cost expenditures and perform margin analysis. The role partners with Operations, Planning, and Supply Chain to trace variances, drive process improvements, and ensure accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years in finance/cost accounting in aerospace manufacturing, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel/ERP proficiency (Fusion preferred). Hybrid work is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field or equivalent.
• 8-12 years in Finance/Cost Accounting in aerospace manufacturing.
• GAAP knowledge and ERP/reporting tooling familiarity.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and ERP experience (Fusion preferred).
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive plant accounting processes ensuring accurate books and SOX compliance.
• Advise Operations on financial performance metrics and interpretations.
• Collaborate across departments to trace variances and improve costs.
• Lead cross-functional meetings for continuous improvement.
• Monitor inventory data, review reports, and analyze cost variances.
• Build dashboards and cost models in Oracle; understand ERP impacts.
