Job summary

CFS, a leading manufacturing company in Morristown, NJ, is seeking a Cost Accountant to strengthen our finance team. You will own standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis, and you’ll influence cost improvements and profitability through detailed reporting and data-driven insights.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of manufacturing costing experience, strong Excel skills, and ERP system expertise (Oracle or similar).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience within manufacturing and costing environments.
• Experience with standard cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP experience; Oracle, or similar manufacturing ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, BOMs, routings, work orders, and overhead absorption.
• Perform inventory reconciliations, cycle count analysis, inventory valuation reviews, and E&O reserve calculations.
• Support month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Analyze manufacturing variances including PPV, labor, material usage, and overhead absorption to identify cost drivers and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain product costing, burden rates, cost rolls, and profitability reporting within the ERP system.
