Simmonds Precision is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to lead cost accounting, inventory valuation, and financial insights in an aerospace-manufacturing setting. You will drive cost models, variance analysis, and data-driven decisions in collaboration with Operations and Finance.

This role focuses on strengthening the cost accounting function as the company grows its finance organization and supports continuous improvement of financial processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 6+ years accounting experience, preferably in cost accounting or manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methodologies.
• Advanced Excel skills and interest in ERP or analytical tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Cost Accounting & Analysis: maintain planned costs, labor/overhead rates, cost models; perform inventory/WIP reconciliations; analyze variances; partner with Operations for insights; support cost estimates and pricing.
• Operational & Cross-Functional Support: collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance for data consistency; assist budgeting/forecasting; analyze trends and KPIs.
• Compliance & Controls: assist in internal controls over cost/inventory; support audits as needed.
