Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Corrections is seeking an Institution Unit Supervisor to oversee a unit with responsibility for security, treatment, and residents’ living conditions. The role directs unit activities and contributes to institution-wide program planning on-site.

The position develops and implements goals, policies, and procedures as part of the management team, with a Monday–Friday schedule and some on-call duties. Applicants must meet state requirements for employment in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Supervision or lead worker experience including directing and evaluating staff.
• Developing, implementing, and evaluating treatment or specialized programs.
• Developing, implementing, monitoring security standards and procedures.
• Experience managing operating procedures of a work unit.
• Participating in multi-disciplinary teams for program development.
• Experience in a correctional setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure security, treatment, and living conditions for residents in the unit.
• Direct all activities within the unit and oversee an institution-wide program.
• Develop, implement, and monitor institution goals, policies and procedures.
