Job summary

The State of North Carolina, Department of Adult Correction, is seeking a Correctional Lieutenant III (S) at Granville Correctional Institution in Butner, NC. This role provides supervision, supports the Correctional Captain III, and ensures safety and orderly operation of the facility.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, timekeeping, investigations, asset control, daily inspections, training coordination, searches, and acting as Officer-in-Charge when needed.

Qualifications

• GED or higher; minimum education requirement.
• Experience with report writing and knowledge of prison policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for subordinate staff, conduct shift line-up, assign posts, and inspect personnel.
• Maintain employee time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, and performance evaluations.
• Conduct investigations as needed and ensure equipment and funds are accounted for.
• Conduct daily facility inspections to identify safety hazards and ensure smooth operation.
• Coordinate training delivery and conduct searches for contraband.
• Serve as Officer-in-Charge when required.
