Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction's Granville Correctional Institution in Butner, NC is seeking a Correctional Lieutenant III to supervise staff, manage operations, and support the Correctional Captain. The role focuses on safety, security, and administrative duties within a high-security facility.

Applicants must meet criminal justice standards and pass background, drug, medical, and psychological evaluations.

Qualifications

• Documented experience with report writing.
• Documented knowledge of Prison Policies and Procedures/ facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for subordinate staff, conducting shift line-up and post assignments.
• Complete and maintain employee time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, and evaluations.
• Conduct investigations as needed.
• Account for persons and funds and ensure equipment is operational.
• Provide daily inspections of offender living areas and facility to identify safety hazards.
• Identify training needs and coordinate delivery of staff training.
• Conduct searches of staff, visitors and offenders for contraband and respond to emergencies.
• Serve as Officer-in-Charge when rotation covers the facility.
