Job summary

The State of Colorado seeks an experienced leader to supervise and oversee facility operations at Sterling Correctional Facility. The Associate Warden will manage housing, security, programs, and offender services, ensuring safe and humane operations and public safety.

Responsibilities include budgeting, incident command, staff supervision, and policy implementation. Candidates should have a decade of related experience and strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning abilities.

Qualifications

• Ten years of relevant experience in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Public Administration or a related field to the work assigned.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse staff.
• Ability to develop staffing patterns, supervise and mentor staff, and manage performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily administrative/operational management over facility program areas: housing, security, group living, offender services, and physical plant operations.
• Oversee facility budget development and ensure adherence to allocated budget.
• Serve as Incident Commander and manage emergency operations plans.
• Direct supervision of professional staff and manage hiring and disciplinary processes.
• Ensure proper offender classification and compliance with COPD policies.
• Lead efforts to promote staff development and organizational growth.
